Day 1 of the 2-Day Homestay Training Programme at the State Food Craft Institute, Itanagar, organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, was successfully conducted. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Bengia Manna Sonam, Deputy Director of Tourism.
Around 40 homestay owners from across Arunachal Pradesh participated, many attending such training for the first time. The sessions were conducted by Mr. S.S. Kar (orientation on tourism and guest experience), Mr. Yomjum Yongam (importance of homestays and guest hosting), Ms. Jimiya Umpo (housekeeping and hygiene), and Ms. Balo Yami (hospitality and communication skills).
Post-session activities included interactions at the Tourism Head Office and discussions with members of the Bugun community on responsible tourism. Preparations for Day 2 are currently underway, with the day concluding on a productive and engaging note.
